Museum Barberini in Potsdam at the Palace Barberini

Today, in the heart of Potsdam, the Museum Barberini shines in the magnificent Palace Barberini, whose reconstruction was made possible by generous donations from Hasso Plattner from 2013 to the end of 2016. As part of the redesign of Potsdam’s city center, together with the reconstruction of the city palace as the new state parliament building and other buildings in the neighborhood, the museum received an externally largely original-oriented design. Picasso exhibition in 2019 at the Museum Barberini Potsdam

After works by Claude Monet and Gerhard Richter have already been exhibited, the planned Picasso exhibition is one of the highlights of the 2019 program.

Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) revolutionized painting in the 20th century several times. Pablo Picasso set new standards in painting, sculpture, graphics and ceramics. The exhibition shows his work from the last two decades of his life. All loans come from the Jacqueline Picasso collection (1927–1986).

  • Baroque paths. The Barberini Corsini National Galleries in Rome – July 13th to October 6th, 2019

Monet in Potsdam – exhibition in 2020

The Van Gogh exhibition can be visited in the museum until February 2020. Then the 27 paintings by Van Gogh by Claude Monet give way.

In the exhibition “Places”, landscape pictures by Claude Monet are exhibited, which he made in places that he visited several times. This resulted in extensive series. For example, on trips to the Normandy coast, to Zaandam in the Netherlands or to London and Venice.

Rembrandt’s Orient from 2021 at Barberini Potsdam

Rembrandt’s “Orient” exhibition will follow from March 2021. The west-east encounter in 17th century Dutch art by Rembrandt can be explored until the end of June 2021.
